Starting Minimum Pay: $38,338 plus exceptional benefit package Starting Maximum Pay: $45,639 plus exceptional benefit package Hours per Week: 40 hr/wk Work Schedule: Typically 8:00am - 5:00pm Days of the Week: Typically Monday - Friday Job Summary/Purpose: Primary Purpose: Coordinate College admissions and recruiting services. Represent the College by participating in recruiting events both on and off campus. Terms of Employment: --- This is a 12-month exempt position at pay level 20 in the Administrative salary schedule. --- Requires flexible work schedule, which may include evenings and/or weekends as well as travel throughout the district. --- Requires the provision of official transcripts upon hire. --- Upon hire, must pass criminal and/or driving history; only information relevant to the position will be considered. Essential Functions: 1.As directed, coordinate all high school outreach and recruiting initiatives: a)Visit in-district high schools on a regular schedule promoting the College to students and developing working relationships with high school counseling staff; b)Co-produce a bi-annual newsletter for all Central Oregon high school juniors and seniors and create other newsletters as directed. c)Participate in area high schools career days, special workshops for student clubs and associations, and related events. 2.Register, coordinate and participate in national, regional, and state college fairs in-district, out-of-district\border state, and out-of-state, as assigned. As directed, visit out of area high schools, both in and out of the state; approximately six to eight weeks per year. 3.Coordinate on-campus and off-campus recruiting related events including, but not limited to, a)Preview Day (high school visit day); b)VIP luncheon for local high school counselors and administrators; c)Parent focused college information sessions; d)College planning workshops for high school students; e)Deliver Getting Started sessions; question and answer sessions; f)Campus tours, assist with college registration activities; g)Coordinate or participate in other campus events as directed. h)Participate in COCC financial aid activities and events both on and off campus, 4.Support the success of students with access challenges by providing services and programs in accessible alternative formats where possible and appropriate. 5.Serve as a campus lead for COCC's Bobcat Orientation, a new student orientation program. 6.Coordinate data-entry and analysis of student recruits in COCC's Customer Relationship Management System (CRM). 7.Maintain social media presence for recruitment and retention efforts. 8.Coordinate on-campus and off-campus recruiting events and programs with OSU-Cascades, as appropriate. 9.Coordinate and oversee the COCC Student Ambassador program. Includes hiring and training student volunteers to help with phone-a-thons, recruiting events, campus tours, professional development workshops. 10.Coordinate other recruiting activities not listed above, but in line with the College's recruiting and marketing plan. 11.Participate on the Admissions and Records team to support the College's mission, vision, values and goals and a shared vision of excellence in student services. Participate in continuous improvement by inviting and providing honest and timely feedback. Adjust workflow and tasks in order to support the overall needs of the team. 12.Serve as an active member of the Pacific Northwest Association of College Admissions Counselors, a professional association providing networking opportunities for high school and college counselors. 13.Attend appropriate professional association conferences (e.g.,OrACRAO, PACRAO), engage in organizational leadership activities and other select events to build partnerships and connections with specific organizations affiliated with COCC academic programs. 14.Assist with planning commencement services, quarterly Bobcat Advising and Registration. Participate in COCC Career and Technical Education events as developed and assigned. 15.Serve on college committees and task forces as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the duties and responsibilities of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. The individual is expected to follow College work rules and policies. 1.Able to effectively communicate with respect and support diversity of prospective students, high school counselors, parents and other parties connected to this position. 2.Skills in public speaking, with the ability to present to both small (5 - 10) and large audiences (100). 3.Ability and skills to competently advise and/or serve students from a variety of background, respecting cultural and socio-economic differences. 4.Must have analytical and organizational skills. 5.Must have customer service and problem-solving skills. 6.Able to work independently. 7.Have the flexibility to travel for up to two or three weeks at a time, as needed for statewide high school visits, college fairs and other recruiting activities, as well as participate in evening and/or weekend activities. 8.Have reliable transportation and be able to drive in potentially adverse conditions on a regular basis. Must be able to drive a vehicle in rural and metropolitan areas in various weather conditions. Position requires frequent auto travel outside of Bend and between district communities. Scheduled evening and weekend hours are necessary. 9.Able to represent the college in a professional, well-spoken knowledgeable manner. 10.Able to move boxes or cases of College materials (up to approximately 50 lbs.) for display and distribution at on- and off-campus locations. 11.Have good general design skills, as needed to set up recruiting booths for high school visits and college fairs. 12.Able to work cooperatively with and contribute to a diverse workplace through ideas or experience. Ability to effectively utilize common Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) as well as the ability to learn and effectively utilize a student information system (Banner) and reporting software (e.g., Argos). 13.Able to maintain confidentiality of student records and adhere to federal student privacy requirements. 14.Able to maintain an working knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, as well as COCC's student privacy policy, as needed to explain this regulation to staff/faculty, students and parents 15.Maintain working relationships with other local teen programs (e.g., J Bar J, Oregon Youth Challenge, Boys and Girls Club, Heart of Oregon, etc.) 16.Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using the English language with or without the use of an interpreter; fluency in Spanish is preferred. Physical Demands and Other Ergonomic Requirements: OTHER ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS Regular office hours are generally Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additional hours or schedule changes may be required based on work requirements and nature of the positions responsibilities. Work is typically performed in an office setting, mostly sitting with frequent computer use. The employee is regularly required use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms and requires near visual acuity to write, read written materials and computer screens, and sufficient hearing and speech ability for ordinary telephonic conversations. Physical movements involve guiding, feeding materials into proper position. Lifting objects vary daily, ranging up to 25lbs. Individual is required to be able to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
