Admissions is a unit of the Division of Student Services & Enrollment Management, and works closely with several other units of that division, as well as a variety of partners throughout the rest of campus, to reach ambitious and important enrollment goals.Within Admissions is a committed group of professionals with diverse backgrounds and perspectives who are focused on both recruiting and selecting undergraduates for the University of Oregon. This care for students also extends to our outreach mission, making sure that students and their families feel empowered about the college preparation, search, and choice process, regardless of where they enroll.Position SummaryThe Senior Associate Director for Operations (SADO) works with the Assistant Vice President/Director of Admissions to lead the operational and processing needs of the organization, and contribute to recruitment and retention goals. The SADO is a vital leadership position on a collaborative management team that supports, directs, and guides the work of the office, makes budget and technology decisions, and determines and implements admissions policies and processes. This position directly or indirectly supervises a significant number of staff who process admission applications, analyze data and must be knowledgeable on detailed procedures, and will be responsible for setting priorities and goals and ensuring the team's success.The SADO must have a strong understanding of the bigger picture of which Admissions is a part. Through leadership, innovation, and collaboration with other parts of the institution, this position will ensure that the work of the office is shaped by, and has the potential to shape, the goals and mission of the university as a whole, while continuously working to assess processes and create efficiencies. The person in this position will serve as the office's senior Slate administrator and work with a variety of admissions technology vendors. They will work with the Strategic Communications team on Slate queries for email, text, and mail marketing and information messages, as well as regularly reporting on admissions data.Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree or bachelor's degree with equivalent relevant experience.
  • Seven years of progressively responsible admissions experience, or in areas closely relevant to admissions.
  • Two years supervisory experience.
  • Experience with utilization of enterprise data systems such as Banner/Ellucian, PeopleSoft or similar.
  • Experience with Admissions-related CRM systems, such as Slate/Technolutions.Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree.
  • Banner/Ellucian experience, including an understanding of data/organization, communication tools, workflow, and batch processes.
  • Understanding of processing and evaluation needs specific to international admission.
  • Assessing and managing a holistic review process.
  • Work with consortium-style applications, such as the Common Application.
  • Two years of recruitment/outreach work in an undergraduate setting.
