Job DescriptionThe purpose of these positions is wildland fire suppression/management/control, as a skilled firefighter on an engine. Other wildland fire related duties might involve fire prevention, patrol, detection, or prescribed burning. The incumbent will also be involved with the maintenance and repair of firefighting tools, equipment, facilities, and will received firefighting training. Primary duties are directly connected with the control and extinguishment of fires and/or maintaining and using firefighter apparatus and equipment. The duties of these positions are so rigorous that employment is limited to physically vigorous individuals who meet established physical requirements. Required to pass medical exam and arduous fitness test.
