SunRiver Resort Hiring Event Date: Wednesday, April 13th Time: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PMLocation: Homestead Building near the Sunriver Resort Great HallBanquet Bartender Job DescriptionSUMMARY: The Banquets Bartender is responsible for the set-up of the banquet bar, as well as mixing and serving drinks to guests. They will ensure legal age limits for all alcohol consumption. The Banquet Bartender will assist in maintaining the AAA Four Diamond Standards.The Banquet Bartender will always conduct themselves in manner which supports the Core Values of Sunriver Resort:TrustOpen & Honest CommunicationCommitmentThey shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. They are responsible for exemplifying the Sunriver Resort Culture as well as promoting Sunriver Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction
  • Sets-up bar prior to banquet events
  • Ensures supplies/ingredients are properly stocked prior to events
  • Mixes ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks
  • Serves wine and bottled or draft beers
  • Checks identification to verify age requirements for alcohol purchase/consumption
  • Cleans glasses, utensils and bar equipment
  • Offers menu advise and suggestions to guests
  • Takes proactive approach to limiting problems and liability that may arise from guests excessive drinking
  • Orders taxis or other transportation for intoxicated guests
  • Arranges liquor, supplies, glasses, bottles, etc. to make an attractive display
  • May slice or pit fruit for garnishment
  • Assists with banquet team as needed
  • Tears down bar area after events
  • Puts all liquor, beverage, supplies, etc. back in proper storage
  • Ensures cleanliness of bar before, during and after an event
  • Assists with the creation of new drink recipes
  • Maintains a strong knowledge of beverage trends
  • Notifies Banquet Manager of bar stocking levels
  • Attends appropriate resort, division and department meetings
  • Resolves guest issues promptly and with great care and effectiveness
  • Follows Banquet Event Orders with strong attention to detail
  • Assists the banquet servers/captains with clearing of tables as needed
  • Provides general resort information for guests
  • Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Sunriver Resort including use of guest name & good eye contact with each guest
  • Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events
  • Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
  • Up sells other resort services and amenities to guests
  • Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude
  • Communicates all pertinent information to the banquets team
  • Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Reports all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor
  • Ensures proper handling, cleaning and sanitation of equipment, china, glass and silver
  • Follows through on lost and found procedures. No articles shall be removed from occupied rooms. Absolute respect for guest property should always be exercised
  • Report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken window panes, missing nuts or screws, etc.)
  • Reports to work on time and according to posted schedule, maintains accurate time records and follows proper standards for issuance of rooms
  • Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Sunriver Resort dress code standards
  • Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all time
  • Performs other related duties as assignedEXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
    • High school education required
    • At least six months bartending experience preferred
    • At least six months Food & Beverage experience required
    • At least one year of customer service experience required
    • Prior hospitality experience preferredJOB REQUIRMENTS:
      • Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
      • Must be at least 21 years of age
      • Must be able to read, write and speak English
      • Must possess valid OLCC card upon hire
      • Must possess valid Food Handler s card upon hire
      • Must be able to work well under pressure
      • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
      • Must be highly detailed orientated
      • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
      • Must have excellent listening skills
      • Must possesses excellent communication skills
      • Must be professional in appearance and demeanor
      • Must always ensure a teamwork environment
      • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
      • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and associates
      • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner

        • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, sun, heat);
        • Must be able to work indoors or outside;
        • Must be able to stand on feet and walk throughout the day,
        • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs;
        • Must be able to bend, squat, push, pull frequently;
        • Must be able to climb stairs and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis;
