Black Butte Ranch has an immediate opening for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist who is able to thrive in a busy and fast-paced work environment. If you are results-oriented Payroll/Accounting/HR professional this is a great opportunity to put your skills to the test!

General Summary: Primarily responsible for all payroll processing and related tasks for Black Butte Ranch while partnering with Accounting and Human Resources. Prepare and process hourly and salary payrolls and payroll tax deposits for federal and state on a semi-monthly basis. Set up all new employees in the ADP Biometric time clock system and payroll system. Responsible for preparing and submitting SAIF (worker's compensation) reports and various payroll reports on a quarterly basis, including payroll taxes to IRS. Audit monthly benefit bills from providers. Process and send employee W2s at year end. Provide HR support and partner with the HR Director for payroll and benefits administration processes. And so many more wonderful accounting and HR tasks.

Other general accounting duties may be assigned as appropriate including secondary support for Accounts Payable and Day Audit.

And of course, confidentiality is a must with Privacy and HIPAA guidelines. Black Butte Ranch is a busy and service oriented Homeowner Resort where employee numbers increase over 250+ from April through September. The hustle and bustle quiets down through the winter months where employee headcount averages 150. Specific Job Skills: Extreme accuracy, detail, and organization along with the ability to meet deadlines are absolutely essential. Confidentiality is a must. The ability to effectively correspond both verbally and in writing with vendors and employees is necessary. Have the ability to analyze reports, invoices and other documents to determine proper processing. Need to work well with others. Knowledge of payroll laws and processes in addition to accounting processes. Willingness to attend various seminars to be aware of new labor laws or other job-related issues.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business or related field strongly preferred; 2 years of payroll experience in ADP Workforce Now, excellent math skills; know federal and state labor laws; and proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel required.

Job Complexity: Must follow proper processing procedures on all paperwork, especially Employee Status Reports. Must always be aware of employee rights and privacy laws. Make payments before due date. Comply with federal and state regulations on forms that are presented by employees. Regular contact department managers pertaining to documentation (especially time sheets).

Interpersonal Responsibilities: Strong sense of responsibility and ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Ability to interact with all managers and employees in a confidential manner at all times. Deal with some public agencies via telephone or in writing.
