Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, seeks a Technical Sales Representative to join its industry leading sales team.  You’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in various unit operations at strategic targeted accounts within the Data Center sector.  Using a consultative and problem-solving approach, you will discover their unique challenges with use of water, energy, and air.  You will collaborate with these clients to implement innovative solutions that will help them achieve their safety, reliability, regulatory, sustainability, and cost reduction goals.

What You Will Do:

  • Generate and execute sales plans in existing customer base and in assigned competitively-held accounts
  • Work closely with current and prospective customers to understand business needs and recommend continuous improvement and innovative solutions that will maintain, solidify, and grow long-term business partnerships.
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders within current and prospective customers, including plant or facility executives
  • Provide technical support to customers;  Lead efforts to understand and identify customer mechanical, operational, and chemical challenges.  Escalate problem resolution to drive continuous improvement.
  • Engage in model-based problem solving efforts by performing system analysis and interpreting data in order to help clients identify root cause resolution. Provide written recommendations to ensure customer operations are performing at optimal levels and within required performance specifications.
  • Manage routine administrative activities to include execution of a defined scope of work, managing chemical inventory and orders, managing client purchase orders and billing, leading custom projects, and executing client business reviews at a defined schedule to capture value.
  • Actively sell and support Nalco Water innovations and technology in assigned customers to promote long-term business relationships with Nalco Water

Territory/Location Information: 

  • This position is based in Bend, OR
  • Territory covers about a 100 mile radius of the surrounding area
  • Targeted accounts are within the Data Center industries
  • Some overnight travel required

Training programs are held in the field and virtually.  Based on your skill level and experience, topics covered may include technology, product, service, business and industry acumen, direct coaching and mentoring, sales management and leadership, classroom training and certifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Five years of technical sales or field sales support experience
  • Possess a valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
  • Immigration sponsorship is not available for this role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial) or life sciences (biology, chemistry, etc.)
  • Water treatment or specialty chemical industry experience
  • Working knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater treatment systems
