Then, we want to hear from you!OUR AGENCY MISSION"To help Oregonians in their own communities achieve well-being and independence through opportunities that protect, empower, respect choice and preserve dignity."ABOUT THE PROGRAM Click here to learn more about Aging and People with Disabilities.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGThis position determines initial financial eligibility, to periodically review financial eligibility and to update verifications and documentation as required for Title XIX,Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and various Medicaid programs.The office provides for social and financial services to the elderly and people with disabilities who arerecipients of Title XIX.WORKING CONDITIONS95% of work is completed in the office, there will be occasional need for field work that may involve going into a consumer's home. The State of Oregon offers excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-coverage health insurance, generous time-off, and a competitive retirement plan.THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO QUALIFY: Two years of experience determining eligibility for an agency program by interviewing to assess the needs of clients, and interpreting and applying the policies, rules, and guidelines that are applicable to the client's situation.Any college courses may be substituted for the two years of general experience on a year-for-year basis (45 quarter hours is equivalent to one year of experience).REQUESTED SKILLSExperience working with social/human services. (i.e. work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, disabilities, prevention, health, cultural competencies)Experience interpreting and implementing policy and procedures in an office settingProficient in Microsoft ExcelAble to handle multi-tasking in an office settingHandling confidential and sensitive informationOnly candidates whose experience most closely match the qualifications and the requested skills of this position will be invited to an interview.
