Job Description:

Zone coaches are responsible for monitoring Woodward obstacle course activities by providing safe, enjoyable and effective instruction for our guests. Zone coaches are also responsible for teaching all ages and ability levels, creating proper skill progressions, and performing appropriate demonstrations. Instruction should create an environment of safety, fun and learning as well as positive interaction and teaching of all guests. Zone coaches run all session models in the WreckTangle as well as weekly activities and events. All Woodward employees are role models and should be prepared to represent the Woodward brand to the highest standard, sharing their enthusiasm for action sports every day?. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Monitor all areas of the WreckTangle including entry, obstacles, and exit areasEnsure safety of all guests and provide a positive experienceProvide instruction and help break down obstacles by explaining how to do themRun daily and/or weekly contests and eventsRun special events such as the Regional ChampionshipsActively engage with all participants at all timesMaintain clean structure and perform routine maintenance on all equipmentAssist with content collection (photography and video)Perform cashier duties, ticket checking and/or first aid functions.Develop caring relationships with participants and help provide the best Woodward experienceMaintain a positive attitude and arrive to shifts on timeUphold highest standard of professionalism in appearance and behavior at all timesBehave in a manner appropriate to our youngest participants (5 years old)Communicate effectively and motivate children, teens and adultsCommunicate effectively with parents and staffOutgoing demeanor and willingness to act as an ambassador for Woodward as well as a role model for children and teens Preferred Experience & Special Skills:Experience in or coaching sportsExperience working with children and/or teensSummer camp background, strongly preferredGymnastics and/or action sports experienceHigh school diploma or equivalentCPR and first aid certificationMust pass a background checkMust provide at least two work-related referencesAt least 18 years of age Physical Demands:Must be in reasonable physical condition to engage in outdoor athletic activities for up to 10 hours in all weather conditions (ability to run, jump, hang, etc.)Must be able to stand and be active for extended periodsMust be able to lift 50 pounds Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled
