Job Summary/Purpose:Primary Purpose:Computer Lab Attendants are available as a resource to students for all COCC technology account questions and who have specific questions regarding computer usage & techniques or who are encountering computer problems while in the labs and over the phone.Job Location is on the Bend and Redmond Campus.

• Upon hire, must pass criminal and/or driving history; only information relevant to the position will be considered.Essential Functions:1. Provide friendly information and assistance to all students, faculty, staff and guests.2. Assists lab patrons with use of computer software programs3. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing4. Able to follow lab procedures and established work orders5. Maintain security and educational atmosphere of the lab6. Assist in the cleaning of the lab and general facility maintenance7. Basic knowledge of computers8. Basic knowledge of COCC Accounts9. Willingness to complete all assignments and trainings10. Other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of and experience with filing and organization
  • Experience with and have good computer skills.
  • Must have good customer service skills.
  • Ability to do different tasks daily.Physical Demands and Other Ergonomic Requirements:Working hours are regular, per the established work schedule. Work is performed in an ordinary office, mostly sitting. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to function effectively indoors in an office environment engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature with the ability to sit or stand at workstation for extended periods. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms and requires near visual acuity to write, read written materials and computer screens, and sufficient hearing and speech ability for ordinary telephonic conversations. Occasional lifting under ten pounds for 15 percent of the time. Must have the abilities as able to crawl under desks to check cabling and able to carrying supplies to other campus buildings.
