Eugene offers a small-town feel with access to arts, entertainment, dining, healthcare, and educational opportunities, and is ideally located near the Oregon Coast, Cascade Mountains, Portland, and Columbia River Gorge.Position Summary:The Director for Student Life Operations reports to the Vice President for Student Development and oversees daily operations of Student Life programs and services, including Beacon Beanery, Campus Ministry, Residence Life, Student Programs, Intramurals, Campus Dining, Student Conduct, Wellness Programs, Student Government/ASBU, and Security. Key responsibilities include administrative support, management of the onsite Beacon Beanery, database oversight, and event coordination. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Vice President in providing operational leadership for Student Life programs and services.
- Manage daily operations of Beacon Beanery, including hiring, training, supervision, collaboration with vendors, merchandise purchasing, sales promotion, budgeting, and safety compliance.
- Develop reports, meeting materials, budgets, and research data as needed.
- Coordinate signature departmental events such as Orientation Family Dinner, Sophomore Year Experience, Junior Discernment Retreat, and Year-End Celebrations.
- Schedule meetings and appointments, make reservations, and attend meetings.
- Prepare and distribute weekly communications via Beacon.
- Utilize Jenzabar for student communication, meal charges, and student data management; participate in weekly system meetings.
- Track project progress, maintain records, and coordinate student welcome baskets for Orientation.
- Handle Student Life Leadership hiring process, including interviews and paperwork.
- Maintain logs, files, and sensitive information securely.
- Order and manage inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Support office functions such as marketing, webpage maintenance, and publicity.
- Supervise front desk, mailroom, Resident Director, and Coordinator for Student Life Operations.
- Participate in various meetings and perform additional duties
as assigned.Experience and Qualification Requirements:Bachelor's
Degree required; master's preferred, in student affairs,
leadership, business, or related fields. At least four years of
professional or para-professional experience in Student Life or
office operations. Knowledge of planning, organization, leadership,
and proficiency with Microsoft Office and database platforms are
essential. Experience in an academic or student affairs environment
is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork
