Employment Type:RegularEmployment Status.:Full-TimeJob Category:BranchAverage weekly hours:40FLSA Type:ExemptRequired Schedule Availability:Mon - Fri: 8:00am-6:30pm and some Sat: 10:00am-3:30pmPosition OverviewThe Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance and appearance of the branch; providing leadership to ensure adequate staffing and training, exceptional customer service, and the attainment of sales goals.Essential Functions1. Partner with department leadership to ensure effective team management including the following:

  • Provide team member oversight of work assignment and review, conduct regular reviews of individual performance, provide appropriate performance feedback and coaching, and initiate employment actions when necessary.
  • Ensure adequate training and cross-training to accomplish organization objectives and provide high-quality service to internal and external members.
  • Identify staffing needs and recommend staff allocation to management.
  • Requisition open positions and follow through with staff selection in a timely manner.2. Demonstrate and assist others in providing effective leadership, including:
    • Maintaining mission, corporate values, service promises and standards.
    • Ensuring adequate, effective, and professional communication.
    • Fostering a professional, safe, and productive work environment.3. Develop and support a referral and sales culture: ensure team is trained to promote SELCO's products and services and track progress in meeting sales objectives.4. Support team in resolving difficult situations, complex issues, problems, and complaints.5. Assist in the development and implementation of process and procedure improvements to enhance the department's service capabilities and operational efficiencies.6. Ensure branch environment is safe, secure, and aligned with SELCO's brand standards by monitoring and addressing necessary maintenance and security updates.7. Perform branch functions including teller, account, and loan services while promoting SELCO's products and services.8. Interact with internal and external customers in a warm and friendly manner, demonstrate a sincere interest and willingness to help.9. Adhere to federal and state regulations, Credit Union policies, confidentiality requirements, and other compliance obligations.10. Consistently achieve individual performance goals and contribute to department and organizational objectives.11. Lead and/or actively participate in required meetings and trainings.12. Adapt to change to accomplish SELCO's goals and objectives.13. Perform other duties as assigned.Skills and AbilitiesThe position requires the following:1. Excellent communication and presentation skills in person, over the phone, and in writing including through electronic channels.2. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with individuals and groups at all levels both within and outside the Credit Union.3. Exceptional customer service skills.4. Sophisticated computer and software skills, including Microsoft Office 365 applications.5. Ability to apply knowledge acquired through experience, job training, and self-study.6. Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills with a high level of initiative, responsibility, and accountability, including flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines.7. Ability to use experience-related knowledge and good judgment to plan and accomplish goals.8. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.9. Strong problem resolution and problem prevention skills.10. Ability to read and analyze documents such as credit reports, tax documents, etc.11. Willingness and ability to receive, give, and assimilate coaching and feedback.12. Ability to work accurately with a close attention to detail.13. Ability to perform duties in an environment with background noise and complete tasks despite interruptions.14. Work ethic that includes dependability, punctuality, and a professional appearance and demeanor.Education and Experience1. High school diploma or equivalent; and2. At least three (3) years of branch (teller, account services, lending) experience; and3. At least two (2) years of team leadership or supervisory experience; and4. Must maintain active federal registration with Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System; and5. Valid Driver's License; and6. Must be bondable.Physical DemandsWhile performing the job duties, approximately 70% of the time is spent stationary, with the remaining time spent moving around work areas. Frequent communication occurs in person, over the phone, and in writing. This position requires the ability to view a computer screen and interpret printed materials and other documents. This position requires the ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds, and there is an occasional need to stoop, kneel, or reach to access documents, equipment, and supplies.Interaction and Work EnvironmentReports To: Branch Manager or Senior Branch ManagerSupervises: Branch TeamWork areas are inside in a climate-controlled environment with background noise.
