Job Description:

Homebuilding: Vice President of Operations Bend, OR PrideStaff, a firm specializing in construction recruiting for Central Oregon businesses, is seeking a Vice President of Operations. The Vice President of Operations leads, directs, and executes all areas of production operations with regard to the Company's purpose, values, objectives, mission, and vision. The role participates in the strategic planning and to be an integral member of the executive leadership team and provide sound counsel and feedback to other executive team members. Vice President of Operations description of duties and tasks: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties will be assigned and this job will evolve over time. You'll need to evolve with it. Is an integral part of the Executive Leadership Team Is responsible to create an annual department budget and to contribute to the annual company budget and to control costs to stay within that budget. Is responsible to create annual departmental plans and to achieve the goals established in those plans. Manages all production personnel activity including: internal staffing, raises and bonuses Is responsible for all vendor activity including vendor recruiting, contracting, disputes and negotiations including following the 3 golden rules of vendor management: have the job ready, treat them with respect, pay them on time. Is responsible for All Product Development Areas such as: floor Plan library and architectural styles, POs, vendor contracting, scopes of Work Is responsible for all purchasing and estimating activities including keeping direct costs in line with the companies annual business plan and long term goals. Is responsible to regularly prepare and present company metrics. Is responsible for all warranty and warranty cost management. Is responsible for achieving exemplary customer satisfaction rating. Is responsible for the slot schedule and ensuring even flow production. Is responsible to ensure the pre-starts process and owns the EPO review meeting ensuring that all build documents are clearly communicated with the field and vendors. Establish specific needs and project scope requirements, evaluate alternatives, prepare budgets, PO's and estimates Is responsible for production related IT management such as: software and database oversight, contracting and compliance management Is responsible for dues and subscriptions such as: mobile phone accounts, job site internet, licenses and business registrations Oversees Back Office Operations Such as: the day to day operation of the back office, train all company personnel in the principles of good business and in recognizing that customer satisfaction is job one, communicate and project the company values and attitude, conducts personnel growth reviews for staff, has approval and monitoring responsibility for all productions employee hiring, training and termination procedures., and margin and variance reporting. Knowledge: Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed. Strong organizational leadership skills through real world experience. Architecture, mechanical and electrical engineering and construction management. Solid working knowledge of construction practices. Laws and ordinances regulating building construction and operation. Project planning and management principles. Budget preparation, bid and purchasing procedures, and expense control. SKILLS REQUIRED: Must possess required skills and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed." - Maintaining an established work schedule, which will include nights and weekends. Maintaining confidentiality of work related information and materials. Preparing budgets and monitoring the disbursements of funds. Effectively using interpersonal and communications skills including tact and diplomacy. Effectively using organizational and planning skills. Interpreting legal descriptions of easements, restrictive covenants, and all similar documents affecting real property. Performing all facets of projects such as the coordination, inspection, permits, etc. Managing multiple projects and maintaining focus on priorities. Collaborating with others to reach mutually beneficial goals and objectives. Negotiating, evaluating and administering contracts. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships COMPUTER SKILLS - REQUIRED: This job requires a tech minded individual with the ability to look into the future at automation and systems implementation. Mark Systems (construction management database) Google Suite Microsoft Office with with an emphasis on Excel Critical path scheduling Smartphone, laptop and tablet literate - WORK EXPERIENCE: Required: At least eight (6) years of related work experience including no less than three (3) years at a VP level. Preferred: More than six (6) years at a VP, or higher level. EDUCATION: Required: Bachelor's degree in a construction or related field. Preferred: Masters Degree in a construction management or related field.
