Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic Department: Service Location: Central Oregon Wage: Top Wages in Central Oregon Benefits: PTO, Paid holidays, 401K, Medical, FSA, Dental reimbursement plan, Life Insurance and AD&D insurance Summary: Diagnose and repair of John Deere, Cat, Kenworth and Ford equipment To perform this job successfully for Taylor Northwest, an individual must be able to: -- Analyze and Diagnose (troubleshoot) equipment malfunctions or failures. -- Pre-delivery setup and installation on all makes and models of above equipment. -- Repair, replace or rebuild engines, transmissions, carburetors, final drives, steering, clutches, cross shafts, hydraulic components including pump motors, valves and all related components, electrical systems and air systems. -- Weld and fabricate (may be required) -- Perform assigned tasks in a timely, accurate and efficient manner. -- Prepare required documentation accurately and timely, including work orders, parts lists and time cards. -- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of equipment and product technology. -- Maintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks (up to 1 1/2") -- Paint -- Perform small hand tool maintenance -- Possess Haz-Mat endorsement -- Read and interpret instruction manual and pertinent literature. -- Other duties may be assigned by the Department Supervisor, Department Manager or the General Manager. -- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. -- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. -- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. -- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. -- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. -- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. -- Maintain a current CDL License. -- Communicate in a courteous and effective manner with customers and/or co-workers. -- Maintain Satisfactory Attendance -- Present with cleanliness, punctuality and a pleasant attitude -- Maintain health, a safe working environment and observe all safety laws, policies and rules -- Work overtime when needed -- Perform assigned tasks in a timely, accurate and efficient manner. -- Be quality & Production Oriented -- Pass Pre-Employment Drug Screen -- Possess a valid current Driver's License Education Experience : -- Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
