Bookkeeper/Office Manager TITLE: Bookkeeper/ Office ManagerEmployment Exempt or Non-Exempt: ExemptDescription of Reporting Function and Authority Level: This position reports directly to the Owner of SomeDay Farms with a dotted line reporting to the company that provides accounting oversight to SomeDay Farms, currently The Foresight Companies, LLCThe Bookkeeper is responsible for performing all bookkeeping and accounting related tasks for SomeDay Farms. They will establish, direct and oversee the proper recording of financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness and timeliness.The day-to-day work consists of using QuickBooks software to complete, track, reconcile and report financial data for the company. To that end, knowledge of standards, regulations, and policies are necessary to ensure the accuracy of any conclusions reported.This position is in an office setting. Work hours are usually restricted to typical business hours, but exceptions may apply during certain periods of the year.Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, Associate degree in accounting or business-related field a plus but not required
  • 10+ years of bookkeeping experience with small to mid-sized privately-owned businesses
  • Must have excellent organization skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience maintaining a documented system of accounting policies and procedures including an orderly accounting filing system and a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Knowledge of the equestrian businessTasks:
    • Perform all financial bookkeeping for the company
    • Prepare and record client billings and receivables
    • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
    • Prepare and process payroll
    • Record and reconcile credit card activity
    • Process vendor invoices, record and prepare disbursements
    • Produce financial statements
    • Assist with annual budget process
      • Comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirement and tax filings
      • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
      • Maintain internal controls for security of company assets
      • Maintain Employee payroll documentation and files
      • Monitor company cash flow and review with Owner
      • Generate expense reports
      • Provide necessary documentation and notice requirements for employee benefit programs such as retirement reporting, benefits, etc.
      • Work on Projects as needed
      • Knowledge of Equestrian industrySoftware:
        • Must have experience with QuickBooks and payroll software
        • Microsoft Office products including EXCELJob Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hourBenefits:
