Essential Functions: Conducts financial analysis for purposes of addressing and evaluating business opportunities and risks

• Analyzes financial information to determine present and future financial performance
• Identifies trends and recommends improvements accordingly
• Makes recommendations to management regarding cost saving or revenue generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies
• Evaluates operational techniques, budgets, programs and practices to ensure most efficient operation, both financially and functionally
• Makes recommendations related to financial trends, business forecasts, and clinic performance
• Prepares financial pro formas and assumptions
• Researches and prepares financial reports on subjects such as rate of return, depreciation, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and impact of government regulations
• Manages tax filing/planning activities
• Recommends tax strategies by researching federal, state and local taxation issues
• Identifies profitability of potential mergers and acquisitions by analyzing tax information; calculating key ratios; identifying areas of tax savings
• Assists in provider compensation formula review
• Develops and maintains system of "checks and balances" to insure integrity of model
• Analyzes month/quarterly provider compensation
• Makes recommendations on process improvements/efficiencies
• Assists with "what if" scenarios, sensitivity analysis
• Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. General office environment in a clinical setting. Exposure to moderate levels of noise in a moderately paced environment. Some weekend and evening hours may be required during peak times. Works with other SUMMIT departments to deliver optimal service and meet clinic goals. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or economics. Four to six years' experience in financial analysis or accounting, preferably in a physician group practice, or other related healthcare arena. Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and related analytical tools. Knowledge of general Accounting theory and principles, preferably as related to practice management systems. A comprehensive understanding of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence principles and architectures, including concepts, designs, and usage of data warehouses and data marts. Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles and practices. Ability to understand and apply knowledge to specific reporting systems and software applications used in physician practice management. Strong communication and presentation skills. Strong Project Management skills. Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
